Natasha Stott Despoja AO

UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, Inaugural Chair of Our Watch and Director of Global Citizen

"I am committed to eliminating the scourge of violence against women. It is one of the greatest impediments to women’s physical and mental health.

We live in a country of privilege, yet many women are living in violent situations. This reality is exacerbated for women with disabilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, multicultural women, and GL&T women.

Gender inequality is at the core of the problem, but the good news is this violence is preventable. Gender equality is part of the cure and that’s my mission!

Women’s Health Week is a time for us to focus on the health, wellbeing and safety of all women.”
