Karen Booth

President, Australian Primary Care Nurses Association

“As a nurse working in primary healthcare, I see women from young to old. I see my role as important in listening to – and supporting – women’s needs, to help them make choices that will positively influence their health.

Each life stage has different health needs; from contraception discussions in earlier life and pregnancy support, to adjusting to the ageing body. Life’s pressures can often get in the way of good health. Nurses play a key role in prevention by promoting and encouraging women to attend health checks and think about their own wellbeing.”
