“In 2018 on my way to work I had a car accident. It was a pretty life-changing accident as I was left with a T4 spinal injury and a minor brain injury.
In those early days when I was in hospital and rehab, I thought that I wouldn’t be able to achieve the goals and dreams I had before. But slowly, I understood how my new body worked and learnt what was possible – and that I was still capable of so much.
Since then, I have developed my skills as a filmmaker and learned new skills such as para-cheerleading, how to do a ‘wheelie’ in my wheelchair and now to sit up by myself! I also hope that as a Women’s Health Week ambassador, my story might inspire women of all abilities to never give up."
